About the Founder
My education at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, paved the way for a wonderful journey as a Registered Nurse working in diverse settings. In Detroit, Michigan, I began my career caring for patients with critical needs. I then became the first Gamma Knife nurse in the state of Michigan, working at the Detroit Medical Center. I was trained and worked alongside a neurosurgeon, medical physicist, and radiation oncologist to help patients undergo a sophisticated and highly technical procedure. There, I grasped the concept early on of teamwork, collaboration, and striving for excellence.
I served in the United States Peace Corps in Papua New Guinea just a short time later, working to train and educate village health aides and teach small business skills to a wood carving group. It was there I learned about the importance of cultural influences and the need for mutual respect. Eventually, I took a short term assignment in Montana, which led to my permanent residence in Northwest Montana. My past work as a Charge Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit and then as a Case Manager for Logan Health, formerly Kalispell Regional Healthcare in Kalispell, Montana, provided me with great rewards and profound experiences. I continue to care for individuals and their families in their greatest time of need.
I work with stakeholders and private entities to ensure a complete understanding of each situation and help resolve issues through comprehensive, detailed assessment and planning. I help clients find their new normal, understand their situation, and plan for optimal well-being through the end of life. I provide ongoing professional oversight and life care management to help maintain stability and improve outcomes for a diverse clientele. Through specialty training, advanced education, and certifications, Eagleview West continues to expand services regularly. Professional services now include training & education in Disease & Dementia Care, private & group consultations for long-term care planning, & speaking engagements. In 2019, I co-founded The Life Care Management Institute with colleague Shanna Huber to help future & current care managers start & grow their own successful care management practice. In 2017, I published the guidebook 7 Steps to Long Term Care Planning. In March 2021, The Life Care Management Handbook was released. Through this process, I learned the power of collaboration, working for nearly two years via mostly virtual meetings. The textbook-style resource manual features 8 sections, 38 guest contributors, & 42 chapters. Available at LCM Expert.
We now offer online courses & various products and tools for professionals interested in starting, growing & managing a life care management practice.
